London, 10th December 2002. Espotting Media, Europe’s largest pay-per-click advertising network, continues its European expansion with its launch in Scandinavia. Espotting Scandinavia covers three territories: Sweden and Denmark, which hard launch on 11th December, and Norway, which will launch in Q1 2003. Espotting is launching in Scandinavia with distribution deals with Yahoo! Europe, FAST and Lycos. Advertisers such as Ebookers, Stepstone, Teamquest, Pan Vision, Mr Jet and Global Mouth have already signed up, as well as media agencies Outrider and Mediaedge:cia. To mark the launch, Espotting are running a ‘Let’s Go’ promotion, which gives new advertisers the chance to ‘Double Your Money’. For example, in Sweden, for every Krona deposited into a new advertiser’s account (excluding set-up costs), Espotting will deposit the same amount, up to a maximum of 10 000 SEK - so if an advertiser deposits 500 SEK, Espotting will add a further 500 SEK into their Swedish account. The offer is running for all three territories - advertisers can sign up on the Swedish and Danish sites; and for Norway, they can register their interest via email from the landing page that can be accessed at http://no.espotting.com.
The Scandinavian sites see a number of new Espotting features including the first stage of a multi-language user interface. This allows advertisers to switch languages while on the site. For example on the Swedish site, users have the option to view the site in Swedish, English, Danish, and soon, Norwegian. They are able to ‘toggle’ between languages via clicking on the Language Flags that appear in the top bar of the site, as seen on http://se.espotting.com/advertisers/list_yoursite.asp?Language=SE
‘The Scandinavian market is very advanced in terms of both the search engine and media sectors - it is a market that has been crying out for pay-per-click advertising. By moving into this market so early, Espotting has gained first mover advantages and market leadership that can provide them with significant competitive advantages’ commented Stephen Baker, vice president, Search Marketing Services at FAST.
Espotting Scandinavia is based in Stockholm, with additional on-the-ground offices in Oslo and Copenhagen. Johan Kinnander has been appointed Region Director and brings over 10 years experience of working in the media sector. Prior to joining Espotting he launched the Swedish operation for Ad Pepper. Henrik Hoglund joins as Business Development Manager. Previous experience includes working for the Ericsson Wireless Marketing venture Mediatude and Tele Denmark. Other members of the Espotting Scandinavian team have worked for Top Jobs, Adlink, QXL, Looksmart and Ask Jeeves.
‘In the last 12 months, Espotting has launched operations in 7 new countries - which eclipses the efforts of any other player in this sector’ commented Daniel Ishag, Espotting Media’s CEO & Founder. ‘Paid-for listings is a sector which truly crosses country and cultural boundaries - advertisers demand targeted, cost-effective traffic; distribution partners desire additional revenue streams; and users insist on relevant results. It’s a model which provides a win-win-win opportunity.’
